ASSISTANT NURSERY MANAGER

We are seeking an Assistant Nursery Manager to help with the responsibility for the plant nursery here at Oaktree Garden Centre.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, this hands-on role offers the right individual the chance to be a part of a significant and extensive business. It includes ensuring the day to day running of the nursery is maintained to the highest standard.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for:

  • Managing production planning- phasing of potting and stock production
  • Ensuring the highest standards of plant hygiene, weed control and tidiness
  • Managing and Liaising with all team members  to help organise, prioritise and delegate ever- changing workload
  • Crop Monitoring and adjusting the growing needs of the crops
  • Ensuring compliance with H&S company Procedures

Personal Specification

  • Good plant knowledge and experience with hardy nursery stock and irrigation systems
  • Relevant horticultural qualification or equivalent qualification would be advantageous
  • We are looking for an ambitious, self-motivated and pro-active individual who has a flexible approach to ever changing priorities and workload, a hands-on approach and the desire to work as part of the team.
  • PA1&PA6, forklift license ideal but not essential.

ASSISTANT RETAIL PLANT MANAGER

We are seeking an Assistant plant retail manager to help with the responsibility for the plant area here at Oaktree Garden Centre.

Reporting to the Plant manager, this hands-on role offers the right individual the chance to be a part of a significant and extensive business. It includes ensuring the day to day running of the retail plant area is maintained to the highest standard.

 The successful Candidate will also be responsible for:

  • Supporting the plant department manager in a wide range of duties.
  • Merchandising effectively creating innovative seasonal displays
  • Liaising with all team members to help organise, prioritise and delegate ever changing workloads.
  • Work as a part of successful team staff delivering excellent customer service
  • Acknowledging customer requirements and keeping up-to date with  latest trends
  • All plant area maintenance and ensuring a high level of housekeeping.

 Personal Specification

  • Good plant knowledge and retail plant experience with a good attention to detail in all aspects of the role
  • Good team leadership skills
  • The ability to maintain high standards within the plant area

Nursery Assistant 

We are seeking a Nursery Assistant to help with the day to day running of our plant nursery here at Oaktree Garden centre.

The focus of this role will be working on our nursery producing stock for the garden centre

This position is full time which will include weekend work 1 weekend out of 2.

This hands-on role offers the right individual the chance to be a part of a significant and extensive business. It includes ensuring the day to day up keep of the nursery is maintained to the highest possible standard.

 The successful Candidates Main duties may include:

  • Potting on
  • Maintaining plant health (including watering & feeding)
  • General housekeeping on the nursery
  • Managing stock volume
  • Working in the retail areas of the garden centre when required

Personal Specifications

  • This role would suit someone with previous experience working on a nursery
  • Any horticultural qualifications would be desirable but not essential, however due to the nature of the role we are looking for someone with experience working within the horticultural sector.
  • We are looking for an ambitious, self-motivated and pro-active individual who has a flexible approach to ever changing priorities and workload, a hands-on approach and the desire to work as part of the team.
  • This role will require regular lifting/moving of heavy or bulky items therefore we require applicants to consider this before applying

Full Time, Weekend & Part Time Seasonal Shop Staff

We are looking for some help leading up to Christmas and possibly beyond in our main shop. Duties include tills, stock replenishment and arranging customer deliveries.
